Joan teaches ballet at the Westside School of Ballet
in Santa Monica. Before her teaching days she has enjoyed
a long and varied career on stage and in Hollywood musicals.
She trained with Carmelita Maracchi and became
the lead dancer for her concert group. After dancing for
Balanchine she took on work as a studio dancer
in Hollywood musicals. Eventually Joan became assistant
choreographer for Bob Alton working with well known
musical stars such as Danny Kaye, Bing Crosby,
Marilyn Monroe and Judy Garland.
